Grapefruit’s backstory
Grapefruit is cold pressed from the peel of the grapefruit – a hybrid of the pomelo and sweet orange. The fruit first came to be known as a “grapefruit” because it grows in grape-like clusters. The main chemical constituent of grapefruit oil is limonene, which gives citrus fruits their powerful cleansing properties.
It’s frequently used in beauty products to promote the appearance of healthy-looking skin.
Similar to the fruit, grapefruit essential oil is rich in antioxidants, especially vitamin C.
